pumpkin pies and all things nice

SooN it is going to be Thanksgiving in the US and the delicious fragrance of pumpkin pie evades my soul. Haloween and Thanksgiving were both a much enjoyed festival in the US . Haloween had costume parties and pumpkin carvings creatively made - one surgeon carved a face on the pumpkin and used a blown up glove and attached it to the nose area - and named his pumpkin - the common cold or some such thing. Lighted candles went into most pumkin's giving a lanterned evening look. THe cat that Aurele and I had was called pumpkin ....but no no he didnt land up in a jar...every kind of rasberry and cranberry went into the jar ...but it would have killed Aurele if pumpkin ended up in the jar...but it was good to celeberate thanks giving with corn cobs, slabs of delicious turkey , cranberries and other goodies. Thanks giving I loved and still love...

Mmmmmm, you are right...and you have made me hungry for pumpkin pie again. It is that time of the year...so off I must go to a local farmer (you can buy pumpkins in the shops but what fun is that) and start the wonderful procedure of making the pies from scratch...yum....

YUM. We just had Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday and I'm ready to have it again, it was so delicious. Turkey, mashed potatoes, veggies of all sorts and of course, pumpkin pie. I only seem to like pumpkin pie this time of year. It was divine. But store bought - they are far too inexpensive for me to bother to make one myself. *grin*
